AromaTouch Technique

Soon I will be certified in a technique known as the AromaTouch Technique. This technique was developed by Dr. David K. Hill, an expert in the area of essential oils and the science thereof. It was developed as a clinical approach to the application of essential oils. Each oil that is used in the technique was carefully chosen through Dr. Hill's experience, knowledge and research.
The purpose of the AromaTouch Technique is to achieve balance (homeostasis) within the body and to create a full body wellness experience.  We all have factors within our lives that affect our health and normal balance. These factors can be from an internal standpoint or from our external environment. When any of these factors throws off our normal balance we are more susceptible to illness, whether physical or emotional. There are four "systemic constants" that are most likely to throw off our normal balance of wellness. These four constants are: stress, toxic insult, inflammation, and autonomic balance. You can read more about these systemic constants here.

Listed below are the oils used for the Technique:

Balance - This blend pretty much does just what it says. It promotes a sense of balance and a state of peacefulness. This is a blend made with spruce, rosewood, frankincense, and blue tansy.

Lavender: This oil is very well known. It has relaxation and calming properties.

Melaleuca: This oil is also known as "tea tree" oil. It has so many wonderful properties I wouldn't even know where to begin! It is great for cleansing and regenerating the skin. It is an antibacterial and antifungal and has many, many healing properties.

Peppermint: This oil can help with digestion issues and can also ease breathing. I use peppermint regularly!

Wild Orange: This oil smells so delicious! It is taken right from the orange peel and cold- pressed. It is great as a mood enhancer and is very energizing.

AromaTouch Blend: This is a massage blend. I will just quote right from the AromaTouch site since I can't explain it much better than them. "dōTERRA’s proprietary massage blend combines the therapeutic benefits of oils well-known to relax muscles, calm tension, soothe irritated tissue, increase circulation, and smooth limbs. AromaTouch combines our CPTG essential oils of basil, grapefruit, cypress, marjoram, peppermint, and lavender in a perfectly relaxing blend which adds many important benefits to various massage techniques."

Deep Blue: From experience I know that this oil relieves pain almost immediately. It is a blend of Wintergreen, camphor, peppermint, blue tansy, German chamomile, helichrysum and osmanthus. My husband requests this any time he has back pain. I can see why this blend was added for the AromaTouch Technique!

On Guard: This blend uses Wild Orange essential oil combined with clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary. It is great for boosting immune system function. When my kids show the first sign of illness, I massage this into the bottoms of their feet and it takes care of it quickly. It can be used daily as a preventative. This is a great addition to the AromaTouch Technique.

The AromaTouch Technique uses certain hand manipulations with the use of Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils to produce a whole body wellness experience. I'm so excited to learn this and I look forward to being able to enjoy this experience with those who are interested in feeling the healing benefits of essential oils.
